Commercial Bank ‘B’ win semi final
Commercial Bank ‘B’ beat HNB ‘B’ by three goals to one in the first semi final of the MHA ‘B’ division knock out hockey fixture at the Astro Turf yesterday. At half time the scores were level at one all.
In the 16th minute of play, Commercial Bank drew first blood when they were awarded a penalty corner and Ravindra Elahena made no mistake.
In the 29th minute, HNB equalized when forward Nimesh Danasekera scored a field goal.
After the change of ends, Commercial Bank went in front when Elahena got his stick onto the ball to make it 2-1 and in the 45th minute, forward Manjula Gunawardena gave Commercial Bank their third goal and a place in the final.
The game was controlled by H.M.C. Bandara and M. Naushad, while M.F. Laheer was the third official.
