Hatton National Bank ‘A’ clinched the inaugural Inter-Bank Netball Championship conducted by SriLankaSports.com and held at the St. Joseph’s College indoor courts in Maradana yesterday.
HNB ‘A’ scored a resounding 57-19 win against Nations Trust Bank in the final as the winning team’s Pabasara Gunasekara pocketed the award for the best player of the tournament.
The losing semi-finalists, Hatton National Bank ‘B’ and Commercial Bank clashed in a tensed playoff for the third slot in which the former won battle by a narrow 13-11. A total of 11 teams took part in this inaugural netball championship organised for the banking sector of Sri Lanka.
