Stafford International School, captained by Revan Polonowita, performed solidly in all departments to record an 18-run win over Asian International School, to clinch the De Silva trophy, following the two schools’ annual big match.
After losing the toss, Stafford was put into bat and registered a total of 147?7 in their allotted 40 overs. In reply, AIS could only acquire 129 runs. Stafford’s vice captain Charana Cumaranatunga was the star of the game, winning the Man-of-the Match and Best Bowler accolades. This is the second consecutive year that Stafford has clinched the annual tie.
