Delhi Daredevils led by Mahela Jayawardene continued its lack lustre form as Rajasthan Royals kicked out their Indian Premier League 6 campaign in style with a thrilling five-run win at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi yesterday. The Delhi Daredevils needed just nine runs from the final over but paceman Kevin Cooper who had bowled his previous, the 18th over, only to concede five runs returned to hand the hosts a doomed day as they suffered their second consecutive defeat. Eventually chasing a winning target of 166 runs, the Daredevils were restricted to 160-5 as Cooper claimed two wickets from the decisive over giving away just three runs, after acting skipper Brad Hodge brilliantly ran out a flourishing David Warner who opened the bat to score 77 from 56 balls in the penultimate over. Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bat.

Rajasthan Royals 165 for 7 wickets in 20 overs (Kushal Perera 14, Ajinkya Rahane 28, Rahul Dravid 65, Stuart Binny 40, Umesh Yadav 4/24, Asish Nehra 2/35)

Delhi Daredevils 160 for 6 wickets in 20 overs (David Warner 77, Unmukt Chand 23, Mahela Jayawardene 19, Manprit Juneja 20, Kevin Cooper 3/30)
