Leo Club of Wattala awarded as the best performing club in the District
View(s):Leo Club of Wattala the first ever Leo club formed in Sri Lanka which falls under Leo District 306 B1. The club has been awarded as the best performing club in the District at the 7th Annual Leo Conference which was held on the 30th of June, 2012. Leo Club of Wattala has been awarded as the “winner” of the below categories:
- Best career development project
- Best project done with Northern Leos
- Best child care project
- Best disable care project
- Best environment project
- Best awareness project
- Best participation in District Activities
Adding to the top, the club has been awarded nine 1st runner up awards and five 2nd runners up awards.
It’s also proud to pass the word that following individuals of Leo Club of Wattala have been awarded in the following individual categories:
- Leo Veronica Perera – Winner in most outstanding Club President
- Leo Arjuna Mahadeva – Winner in most outstanding club V.President
- Leo Niluka Perera – Winner in most outstanding club Secretary
- Leo Dhanuka Perera – 1st runner up in most outstanding club Treasurer & Leo Scholar Award
- Leo Angelo Suraweera – most Disciplined Leo Award
Last but not least, Leo Club of Wattala has been awarded as the Best Administration Club in the District 306 B1 and in the Leo Multiple District 306 and also got ranked among top 5 Leo Clubs in Sri Lanka.
All of the above achievements were granted under the leadership of Leo Veronika Perera for the fiscal year 2011/ 2012 under the theme “leads, serve, thrive”.
Leo Club of Wattala is looking forward to bestow their community service under the new leadership of Leo Arjuna Mahadeva for the fiscal year 2012/ 2013.
