Star performances from Gateway students at the Edexcel International GCSE examinations
View(s):Gateway students have achieved outstanding academic results at the Edexcel 2012 IGCSE examinations. Repeating last year’s feat, Gateway has once again produced a student who has achieved 12 A Stars and an A. This year, it is Isuri Ratnayake, who achieved this remarkable feat.
Further, three students – Vinura Abeysekera, Minuri Dharmasena and Sashini Iddawela obtained 11 A Stars each, one student – Navidu Samarakkodi obtained 10 A Stars and two students – Thilhara Tennakoon and Tharindu Mendis secured 9 A Stars each.
Also among the other high achievers are Sanjula Weerawardhena, Raveen Hatharasinghe, Dilini Eiyagama, Dion Nanayakkara and Zeenat Firdhous who obtained 8 A Stars each and Cahndula Suriyapperuma, Dharshana Jayasundara, Nathalie Lennon, Praveen Muthukumarana and Mahesha Kulatunga who obtained 7 A Stars each. There were many students who achieved 6 and 5 A Stars each. The highlight of this year’s performance, however, is the 100% pass rate of many subjects and a near 100% of the others.
