Gangaramaya Perahera attracts large crowds

The 47th annual Navam Perahera of Colombo’s Gangaramaya Temple was held yesterday, with religious observances preceding the colourful pageant that attracts a large number of devotees, tourists and locals. The highlight was the placement of the casket carrying sacred relics on the Perahera’s lead tusker.
