Potential collaborations between the Maldives National University (MNU) and Sri Lanka universities and higher education institutes have been discussed.

The discussions were held between the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in the Maldives M Rizvi Hassen and Chancellor Dr Mahamood Shougee and senior management of MNU last week. The discussions entailed initiating MoUs to conduct academic exchanges, joint researches, joint symposiums and joint publications with Lankan institutes for the mutual benefit of the higher education sectors of the two countries, the high commission said..

The MNU is the oldest and largest university in the Maldives with around 15,000 students currently.
