Through this collaboration, ShortDot becomes a key partner within LK Domain Registry’s international reseller network, enabling .LK domains to be offered through more than 400 accredited registrars worldwide.
Prof. Gihan Dias, CEO of the LK Domain Registry, stated that the partnership marks a major milestone in positioning .LK as a globally recognised domain extension. ShortDot’s extensive experience in scaling domain extensions internationally makes them an ideal collaborator in elevating Sri Lanka’s digital presence. ShortDot’s CEO, Lars Jensen, emphasised that this initiative is not only an expansion but the beginning of a new chapter for country-code domains under the ShortDot Registry Services Programme.
ShortDot brings a strong track record, having successfully expanded the .qpon domain from a few hundred registrations to over 30,000 within six months. This highlights the programme’s capability to transform national domain extensions into globally competitive digital assets.
Under the agreement, ShortDot will support technical operations and DNS management for their global reseller network while executing targeted international marketing campaigns with the Registry’s approval. Their strategy includes branding .LK as a shorthand for “link,” making it appealing to businesses and individuals seeking short, memorable domains.
