NIBM Marketers Hub Triumphs with Groundbreaking ‘Digital Marketing Fest October 2025’

The NIBM School of Business recently concluded its highly successful and influential ‘Marketing Fest October 2025,’ a landmark event meticulously planned and executed by the dedicated Marketers Hub, comprising the brilliant students and faculty of the BSc (Hons) Digital Marketing and Brand Management degree programme.

The festival was anchored by a strong partnership with Unilever, which brought unparalleled industry expertise directly to the campus. This collaboration enriched the core ‘Brand Talks’ series, featuring sessions where Unilever’s professionals shared in-depth strategies. These included Junior Brand Manager Ridma Pathirana on Close-up , followed immediately by Senior Brand Manager Anuka Aluwhare detailing the market positioning and success of Lifebuoy & Premium Skin Cleansing. Extending this focus on major FMCG brands, the event also welcomed Brand Manager Nayomi Girdharimal to discuss the strategy behind Surf Excel, providing a comprehensive view of dominant household product branding. Further diversifying the brand exposure, Marketing Manager Thilina Dhananjaya offered valuable insights into Akbar Ice Tea.

A central element of the fest was the NIBM Day on Digital Marketing & Brand Management, which underscored the programme’s future-forward approach. It featured ‘Digi Talk 3.0’ led by Rohan Perera (Senior Manager Digital Media at Ogilvy), who dissected the critical role of data-driven digital marketing. The day also hosted competitive events, including the Inter School Digital Marketing & Brand Management Competition and a pioneering AI Prompt Engineering Competition, challenging students to master the integration of Artificial Intelligence into marketing workflows. The engaging ‘Coffee with a Game Changer’ session, featuring Shalendra Mendis (Founder & Managing Partner of Hackvertising Network), capped off the day with entrepreneurial inspiration.
