Celebrating Excellence: Leeds Campus hosts 11th Graduation and Cambridge Awards Ceremony
View(s):The Leeds Campus of Business and Technology hosted its 11th Graduation Ceremony and the Cambridge English Awarding Ceremony to celebrate the achievements of its students from both the Cambridge English Programme and the Teacher Education programmes.
The joint occasion was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. L. W. L. Kularatne, acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Vocational Technology. The ceremony began with a Welcome Dance and the traditional lighting of the oil lamp. The Chairman, Deshamanya Dr. Sarath Jayatissa, delivered the welcome address.
The Cambridge segment recognised students who earned globally recognised Cambridge qualifications, with certificates presented by several dignitaries, including Mr. Rashad Ahamad, COO of Distance Learning Centre. Ms. Isuri Nethsala delivered the High Achievers’ Speech.
Following the Chief Guest’s keynote address, the second segment commenced for the Teacher Education graduation. The Chief Guest distributed the certificates, and the Valedictory Speech was given by the most outstanding student, Mrs. Yasali Nayarana. The Chairman presented tokens of appreciation to the lecturers, and a gesture of gratitude was given to the Chief Guest. The ceremony concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms.kinithi Jayathissa director of LCBT.
