Work to resume on incomplete university constructions

The cabinet has approved the completion of unfinished construction projects in universities.

Several construction projects in the Ruhuna, Sabaragamuwa, Wayamba, and Sri Jayewardenepura, Trincomalee and Eastern universities had not been completed as various obstacles were encountered during the approved period.

The remaining work of projects that have been 75 percent completed need to be completed fully.

During the cabinet meeting Prime Minister Harini Amarasooriya proposed to fully complete the remaining construction of the buildings on priority basis, managing the provisions of the budget that would be allocated in 2026, 2027 and 2028. (KW)
