ICASL and Kelaniya University in a joint effort to empower AL students nationwide

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) together with the University of Kelaniya will spearhead an Inter-School quiz competition in october in its continuing endeavour to empower the knowledge of Advanced Level students across the country.

In this effort, the ICASL and the Department of Accountancy of the Kelaniya Univeristy has organised an Inter-School competition for government, semi governement and international schools in Sri Lanka which aims to increase the knwoledge capacity and intelligence quotient (IQ) of grade 13 students spread across the country who are sitting for the forthcoming Advanced Level examinations. The competition is open to students studying in the commerce stream (English medium).

The preliminary rounds of the quiz competition will commence on 11th October at the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies (FCMS) of the University of Kelaniya, while the semi-finals and the final round are scheduled to be held on 13th October at the ICASL Auditorium, Colombo 7.
Winners and the runners up of the competition will be awarded cash prizes ranging from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 30,000 while all participants will be awarded certificates.

Registration for the competition is now open and will close on 6th October.

As the largest tertiary education establishment in the country, outside the university system with a student base of over 36,000, the ICASL regularly organises various events aimed at the long term benefit of students representing both local and international schools.

ICASL was also recently the platinum sponsor at the Sri Lanka Model United Nations Conference, which attracted over 1000 delegates, consisting of both local and foreign students between the ages of 13 and 19.
