St. Anthony’s Panadura slam 103

Royal Panadura Invitation Cricket Sixes

The opening day’s play in the inaugural Royal Panadura Old Boys Six-a-Side Invitation cricket tournament at the Panadura Esplanade saw St. Anthony’s Panadura having the honour of recording the highest score of the tournament.

They recorded 103 against Lyceum International Panadura in a second round game overcoming the host Royal’s score of 88 made in the morning session. In the same match Antonian batsman Damidu Eranga hit the highest individual score for the day when he blasted 55.

The invitation cricket tournament organized by the Old Boys of Royal Panadura saw 16 teams in the fray which includes two international schools - Lyceum and Leeds located in Panadura.

St Anthony’s Panadura 85 for 3 in 5 overs (Mohamed Hilmi 32) beat Ananda Sastralaya Matugama 39 for 3 in 5 overs (M. Vimukthi 2 for 8). Leeds International Panadura 54 for 0 in 2.4 overs (Dimuth Fernando 38 n.o.) beat Vidyarathana Horana 50 for 2 in 5 overs (M. Devaka 20 n.o.). Kalutara MV 58 for 1 in 4.2 overs (Vinun Madushan 33 n.o.) beat Sri Sumangala Panadura 57 for 3 in 5 overs (Madhawa Fonseka 31). Mahanama Panadura 69 for 1 in 3.3 overs (Kasun Madusanka 32 n.o.) beat Tissa Central Kalutara 60 for 1 in 5 overs (Jamindu Thiranjan 34 n.o., Danuj Thiranjan 21 n.o.). Wadduwa Central 77 for 4 in 5 overs (T. Thilina 18 n.o.: V. Sampath 2 for 6) beat Royal Horana 47 for 4 in 5 overs (V. Chanchala 25). Taxila Central Horana 64 for 0 in 5 overs (M. Madusanka 40 n.o., S. Maimgoda 16 n.o.) beat Maithri MMV Bandaragama 58 for 2 in 5 overs (Nalinda Dilshan 18).
Second Round – St Anthony’s Panadura 103 for 3 in 5 overs (Damidu Eranga 55, D. Deemantha 28) beat Leeds International Panadura 35 for 3 in 5 overs (D. Eranga 3 for 7). Royal Panadura 72 for 3 in 5 overs (Charith Ruchiranga 28, Kavindu Ashan 28: R. Saminda 3 for 5) beat St John’s Panadura 62 for 5 in 5 overs (Thenuka Dananjaya 2 for 11).
