Rishane and Ashan shine in drawn game at Mt Lavinia

Tons by Rishane Mathangaweera and Ashan Jayasanka were the highlights of the drawn Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter between S. Thomas’ and Dharmapala Pannipitiya which ended at Mt Lavinia yesterday.

Rishane cracked an unbeaten 117 with 17 boundaries and three sixes while Ashan clobbered 130 with 26 boundaries and a six. Rishane’s ton saw the Thomians take the upper hand in the morning session of play on day two and Ashan saved his side to deny the home team a victory.

Mahinda dominate drawn match
Mahinda College Galle dominated the proceedings in their drawn Under 19 game against Ananda at Ananda Mawatha yesterday. The opening day’s play saw Mahinda, taking first lease of the wicket, helped by a knock of 88 by Hashan Kumuditha making a modest 204. They then had the Anandians struggling on 73 for 5 at the end of day one.

Hashan and Lisula put Gurukula MV on top
A knock of 109 by Hashan Dumidu and a half ton by Lisula Lakshan put Gurukula MV Kelaniya on top against Raddoluwa MV in the Under 19 inter-schools match which began at Raddoluwa yesterday. The match will be continued at 9.45 a.m. today.
