Nilusha shines on day one

Nilusha Sasanka shone with a knock of 53 that helped Isipathana to come out on top against St. Sebastian’s in their Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter which began at Moratuwa yesterday.
Nilusha’s knock comprised of ten boundaries as he along with Chenutha Wickramasinghe put on a opening stand of 83 which helped their side to end the day on 126 for 5.

The match which got off to a late start saw St. Sebastian’s taking first lease of the wicket and were restricted to 142 with Booshana Nibanda taking four wickets while St. Sebastian’s Anuk de Alwis too finished with a four wicket haul which started a minor Isipathana collapse.

The match will be continued today. St. Sebastian’s 142 (Luke Jayadeva 34, Charith Fernando 31, Anuk de alwis 19, Rusiru Gunatileke 15: Booshana Nibanda 4 for 47, Sidath Mallawaarachchi 2 for 21)

Isipathana 126 for 5 (Nilusha Sasanka 53, Chenutha Wickramasinghe 32, Harith Wanigarachchi 119 n.o.: Anuk de Alwis 4 for 30)
