Merc. Swim meet on October 10

The President’s trophy for the fourth annual Mercantile Swimming Championship, which is being organized by the Thurstan College Aquatic Club, will be up for grabs next Sunday at the college’s Swimming Complex.

The Championship, which is being held in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Amateur Aquatic Sports Union (SLAASU), is the only swimming competition in the country to cater to competitors in private sector organizations.

Organizers have seen a sharp rise in participation over the past three years and are hoping to incorporate several novel aspects into this year’s meet to bring about an even greater increase in participation.
