In a one sided game Thurstan routed Ananda 35-5 in their Singer Under 20 Division 1B inter-schools rugby encounter played at Longdon Place yesterday.
Thurstan having led 13-5 at he breather got their points through two goals, three tries, one drop goal and a penalty as against a try by Ananda. Full back Ishan Samarakkody went over for two tries.
Centre Mithun Dhanushka, wing three Kavinda Gihan and prop forward Viduranga Weerasinghe scored one each while Fly half Eranga Costa made the two conversions and booted over the penalty and the drop goal.
Mahanama defeat Zahira 34-13
Mahanama defeated Zahira 34-13 in the Singer Under 20 Division 1B inter-schools rugby encounter which was played before the Thurstan and Ananda match. Mahanama having led 10-3 at the breather accumulated their points through six tries of which two were converted while Zahira made up their points off one goal and two penalties. |
