The Otter Aquatic Club will be holding its Annual Open Ranking Tennis Tournament at the club premises from March 11 to 19. There are 13 events in total. All ranked players in Sri Lanka are expected to participate. The draw will take place on March 8.
Play will commence at 2.30 pm on week days and at 8 am on weekends.
The junior events are Singles for boys and girls under 12, 14 and 18 years. Doubles for girls and boys under 14 years. All five open events will be held. They are: Men’s Open Singles, Women’s Open Singles, Men’s Open Doubles, Women’s Open Doubles and Mixed Open Doubles.
As this is the first Ranking Tournament for the year to be held in Colombo, over 250 entries are expected. Prize monies will be awarded to the winners and runners up pf the open events. Trophies will be awarded to the winners and runners up of the junior events. All winners, runners up and semi finalists will receive certificates.
The referee for the tournament will be Mr. Avantha Sunimala, a White Badge Umpire from the SLTA. |
