It was a great pleasure to have met up with Mr Rohan Wijesooriya Managing Director of International Placewell Consultants who has just completed the recruitment process for the September 2008 intake on behalf of the University of Greenwich UK which they represent solely in Srilanka.

International Placewell Consultants more popularly known as I.P.C in Sri Lanka have been successful in enrolling over 100 students this year for the September 2008 intake which is almost 30 % above the number of students enrolled last year.

Questioning as to the tremendous success in the increasing number of students joining the university of Greenwich each year Mr Wijesooriya states that the secret has been the exemptions granted by the university to qualified students to continue their higher studies with direct entries to their respective degree programs;this is a great advantage to the students as well as their sponsors as it helps them both economically as well as with the time duration to qualify themselves;

WHAT SORT OF EXEMPTIONS DOES THE UNIVERSITY OFFER?
Well the university has set of guidelines provided for exemptions that could be granted for each particular area of studies;for example a student who has completed his C.I.M.A foundation level would be offered a direct entry to the 2nd year degree program in BA Hons Accounting & Finance and like wise a student who has completed his Managerial level at the C.I.M.A examination could be offered a direct entry to the final year of the BA Hons Accounting& Finance;

We also offer a wide range of exemptions to students who have already completed the Higher National Diplomas conducted by Edexcel and City & Guilds etc in various fields of studies;
This year we had quite a number of students who joined us after completing their initial studies at "SKILLS" where most of them have completed programs in Electrical and electronic Engineering
We also had quite a number of students who joined us from Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology to complete their Masters Program,

And of course for the Undergraduate programs we have had a great demand from students in the International schools such as C.I.S/A.I.S/Lyceum International/Gateway College/Royal Institute etc who have successfully enrolled for various programs.

We would like to say that there is a great demand for almost all area of studies,but specifically would like to mention that there has been an exceptional demand for the undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the School of Engineering/School of Computing/School of Business/and the School of Sciences

Its very striking to note that most of the students have done a lot of home work about the university and the programs they are interested through the web sites of the university and are more or less very specific on their area of study.
