Police have urged the public to be on alert for forged 2,000-rupee currency notes circulating after a series of detections of fake notes were reported during the past few days. Supermarkets, shop keepers and restaurants were seen carefully checking currency notes during the past few days. In a single case this week dud currency notes amounting to Rs. 7 million were detected.
