The Government has decided to ask local companies in the computer trade, including those accredited to sell internationally branded products, to make bids. Schools receiving the equipment are also to be told to turn to the local suppliers, who win the awards, for assistance even after the warranty period expires.

A Government appointed Procurement Committee assisted by a Technical Evaluation Committee will examine the bids, a Government official said.
