Club Hotel Dolphin in Waikkal, a 4-star property owned by Serendib Leisure Hotels PLC, was re-opened on Friday, officials said.
The hotel which underwent a 6-month refurbishment of 100 rooms costing Rs. 500 million starting May now has 99 superior rooms, 50 chalets and a suite.

Club Hotel Dolphin witnessed a steady growth during 2007-2012 and has achieved an average occupancy of 84 per cent during the period, analysts said. They said that European guests remain the major visitor group for the property.

Serendib officials said that their other hotels projects are on track. “Two properties that we plan to build in Kalutara and Tangalle will be 5-star and the other will be a 4-star property in Ambalangoda,” Ranil de Silva, Managing Director, Serendib Leisure Hotels PLC told the Business Times.

While details of the projects are yet to be finalised, he said that they will be partnering with Thailand’s Minor Group for these projects.
