St. Thomas’ College Matara won their Under 17 Division One second round match against St. Aloysius College Galle by 20 runs. The match was played at the Mahinda College grounds on August 7.
STC, batting first, were bowled out for 164 in 45.2 overs. W. A Madhusanka captured four wickets while Gihan Niroshan, Viranduwage and Jayaraj captured two wickets each. Heshan Hasanka topped the scorecard with 30 runs.
The Aloysian batsmen, except for Lasith Anuradha who scored 39 and W A Madhusanka who notched up 27, could not impress and the team was all out 20 runs short of the target. Dileep Tharuka captured three wickets and Ravindu Chathurtha captured two wickets for STC.-P D de Silva
