Sri Lanka Cricket is on the watch on developments regarding the news that coach Graham Ford has been offered by the English County Surrey to take over.

So far the South African born Graham Ford that he has not decided on any future plans and he would review his options once his contract with the SLC comes to an end in January 2014. Less than six months hence.

Commenting on the development Ford went on record saying “During the Champions Trophy in England I was informally asked by the Surrey CEO if I would consider their vacant position. My reply was that my Sri Lanka contract finished in January 2014 and would consider all options available to me from there on. I have had no further discussions with Surrey and believe that there is no foundation to the story.”

When inquired about the development from Secretary Sri Lanka Cricket Nishantha Ranatunga, he said “So far we have no qualms about Ford’s work as he has been doing a reasonable job. However we must be alert. According to the development by January next year we would have discussions with cricket experts, the cricket committee and the management and arrive at a decision.”
