Sanjiv and Niranjalee win golf elite event
View(s):Sanjiv Vairavanathan emerged the Elite Club Men’s overall champion while Niranjalee Amarasuriya took the grand prize for the Elite Club Ladies’ overall winner at the 4th annual Etisalat Golf Classics which recently concluded at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC).Vairavanathan and Amarasuriya also were awarded all-expenses paid golf tours to Abu Dhabi from Etisalat Elite Club.
Overall men’s winner Vairavanathan obtained 41 points Amarasuriya accumulated 39 points to win the ladies title.
Other categories in the tournament were held for Sri Lanka squad players, seniors, masters, ladies silver and bronze segments in addition to the Division A to C for the Etisalat Invitees. Winners of these categories were also awarded prizes. B.A. Rohana emerged the winner of the Sri Lanka squad players’ category with 65 Gross points while Prasanna Goonetilleke was at the top of the leader board in the seniors category with 48 nett points. Roy Anthony recorded 47 points nett to take the masters division. R. Sangani emerged the winner in the ladies silver division with 39 nett points while the ladies bronze division was claimed by Derna de Silva who scored 40 nett points.
Additionally in the Etisalat Invitees categories, played with a 0-9 handicap, the Division A title was won by Sanjeewa Wickramanayake who scored 39 points, while Division B, played for handicap 10-18, was claimed by Ceasar Fernando who made 43 nett points. Isam Salie won the Division C for the handicap 19-28 with 43 nett points.
