ICON College – UK Principal to visit First Global Academy
View(s):First Global Academy (FGA) and ICON College- UK is in the stage of finalizing the Partnership Collaboration between both institutions to bring a unique Learning Experience to Sri Lankan students. In this regard, ICON College Principal and Business Development Manager will be visiting First Global Academy in Sri Lanka on 24th December 2012.
First Global Academy – FGA is the pioneer institution in Sri Lanka to promote training and career development programs in the field of Islamic Banking, Finance and Takaful. FGA was the only educational institution which has been recognized as “Education First” in the first ever Islamic Finance country report 2011 by KPMG – Sri Lanka and recently covered in the Global Islamic Finance Forum – GIFF2012 – Country and Business Guide, as a ‘Talent Development’ institution for the Islamic finance industry, coming from Sri Lanka. FGA has been accredited by Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (CISI) – UK, City & Guilds – UK and Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA) –is the Management Accounting body in Sri Lanka which is incorporated by Parliament Act No.23 of 2009.
The ICON College of Technology and Management is a London-based private college with over nine years of experience in offering BTEC qualifications along with top-up degree programmes. Year after year, EDEXCEL external examiners have found ICON to be one of the few private colleges in London to deliver to highest quality standards. The recent overall quality inspection by EDEXCEL as well as the QAA review again supports the view that the College is committed to quality.
ICON offers BTEC vocational Higher National Diploma (HND, level-5) courses in Business Management, Travel and Tourism, Hospitality Management, Computing and Systems Analysis, and Electrical Engineering. Now they have been authorised to offer these courses abroad through satellite centres such as First Global with direct support through VLE.
The BTEC HND qualifications that are awarded by EDEXCEL are at levels 4 and 5, equivalent to the first two years of UK university studies and students can also continue to complete the final year of a degree in any UK university (subject to acceptance). ICON College offers students the opportunity to complete a degree either in the host country or in the UK. . ICON College also offers Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership leading to MBA top up from UK University (subject to acceptance).
