The best outdoor activity

There are many outdoor activities in this modern world. Every outdoor activity helps man in many ways.
Hiking is one of the best outdoor activities. The word hiking means walking or tramping. Such walkers are found everywhere in this world. Hikers walk on the hills, mountains, along rivers, fields, parks and
everywhere.

Hiking has a number of advantages. Hiking gives physical exercise. While walking, the various limbs of our body move. Hiking in the countryside gives us a feeling of being independent because we are away from the noisy city life. Walking in the countryside feels very calm and quiet and we get mental relaxation too. When hiking in the countryside we inhale plenty of fresh air.

So, I think that hiking is the best outdoor activity and it has more advantages than other outdoor activities.

Christmas

Christmas falls in the month of December. Christians all over the world celebrate this day on a grand scale.
On this day, they get together and commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ who was one of the greatest teachers in the world.

Houses are decorated with tinsel, bells and holly wreaths. Shops are blazing with lights and people walk on roads full of Christmas cheer. Relatives and neighbours get together and organize Christmas dinners and parties. Many rich people join hands with each other and engage in activities in order to give comfort to the poor. Also in orphanages, special gifts and toys along with food and clothing are being supplied to the poor.

People give money and organize various programmes to celebrate this joyful day. Children and school organize Christmas carols and street dramas. Christmas cards and Christmas trees light up every house while the children wait for the visit from Santa Claus.

Jesus Christ brought joy to the world. People in all aspects enjoy Christmas joyfully. The message of peace brought by Jesus Christ should be valued by every person in the whole world.

As the spirits of Christmas once said, “May the Good Lord above, bless us on this cherished moment on Christmas Day!”

My favourite hobby

My favourite hobby is reading. I like to read storybooks like Enid Blyton’s books, Barbie books and Gwyneth Rees books.  I like to read the Funday Times newspapers as well. When I read books
I gain a lot of knowledge.

I have a small book rack with lots of books. It is made up of books which my father, mother, brother and aunty gave me as presents. My mother got me interested in this hobby.

I like to read the Funday Times newspaper because there are many pictures and articles in it. My father is always supporting me to read the Funday Times.

We must learn to choose good reading material. We must not read bad books which fill our minds with bad ideas. We must get help from our parents and teachers when we choose books to read. Good books give us lots of help whereas bad books may do us a great deal of harm. We must learn to choose books well and read what is useful and good.

The Christmas Day is celebrated by Christians and Catholics around the world. It is a festival of Christ’s birth which falls on December 25 every year. They go to church at midnight and the mass for prayers.
In every house we can see Christmas trees and they are decorated very beautifully. Christians exchange gifts on that day. On Christmas Day Santa is a popular character.
