Harsha Abeyaratne’s debut recital at Carnegie Hall

Pianist Harsha Abeyaratne who maintains an active career as a performer and pedagogue in the United States and his native Sri Lanka will make his debut at the prestigious Carnegie Hall’s Weil Recital Hall in Manhattan, New York on December 14.

Abeyaratne has included Robert Muczynski’s exciting “Third Piano Sonata” in this programme to honour the distinguished American composer who passed away two years ago.

Abeyaratne’s numerous recitals include performances in such cities as Manhattan, Chicago, Charleston (WV), Jacksonville, (FL), and Portland (OR).

In October of this year, he performed this recital-programme at Grace Lutheran Church (Ohio), Muskgingum University, and Ohio University in Athens.

Abeyaratne is currently the Coordinator of Keyboard Studies and an Associate Professor of Music at Muskingum University. He has previously taught in the keyboard departments of Manchester College and Marshall University. He holds music degrees from Lewis and Clark College and Ball State University.
