Zahira to stage anniversary walk

As part of the celebrations to mark its 120th anniversary, Zahira College, Colombo will stage a walk, on November 3 at 3.30 p.m., which is expected to attract a great number of the school’s past and present students.

Zulfiqar Ahamed, who heads the event’s organizing committee, said the walk will begin at the school premises and proceed through Darley Road, Lipton Circus and Ward Place, before returning once again to the school.

He added that each of the batches of Old Boys participating in the walk, in addition to showcasing a unique theme, will also have an opportunity to interact which each other during a reception at the end of the walk.

The walk is just one of a long list of events being organized to celebrate the school’s anniversary- among which have been several sporting competitions- with still more scheduled.
