Holy Cross College, Gampaha shuttlers showed their prowess at the Junior National Badminton Zonal Championship 2012 in the Gampaha district age group when they not only won all the singles and doubles events of Under-11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 events but also became runners-up in the same age categories and events. It is noteworthy that all the finals were home and home affairs. This tournament was conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Badminton Association and was played at the Kadawatha Sendra Indoor Stadium.
In another tournament conducted by the Negombo Badminton Club the lasses from Holy Cross emerged champions at the Under-15 singles and doubles while also emerging runners-up in both categories of the age group. They also became runners-up in the open event. The tournament was held at the Negombo Indoor Badminton Stadium. – NA
