Musaeus College clinched the Under-20 overall championship at the inaugural Sri Lanka Schools Rowing Championships 2012 held last week at the Beira Lake in Colombo.

In the senior category, the Under-20 Musaeus pair, Vinuri Wickramasekara and Janithri Marapana set a new record by timing four minutes and two seconds to win the event.

In the same age group, Janethri Marapana and Pahan Vidyalankara won the silver medal in the sculls event while their team who took part in the double sculls, consisting Vinuri Wickramasekara and Subashini Kularatne too won a silver medal by winning their race.
The Musaeus Under-16 Pairs comprising crew members Pramudi Dias, Nathira Wijemanna, Ashvini Jayathilake, Sarith Rathnayake and Dilki Wijesekara won the silver medal.

Ashvini Jayathilake and Sarith Rathnayake also won a silver medal representing Musaeus in the Under-14 double scull event. The event was held at Colombo Rowing Club, Beira Lake in Colombo on September 13, 14 and 15. – NA
