Cavalry Super cross on July 11

In a bid to promote their new race track at Pangolla, Kurunegala and generate funds for their unit, the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps are hosting Cavalry Supercross, an inaugural racing event that is scheduled for July 11.

The 1.4 km long gravel track will host 13 car races and 14 motorbike races during the competition. The tournament is being conducted jointly with the Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR) and will be the fourth CEAT SLARDAR event of the year.

“We have plans to maximize the potential of the track we have built by promoting the venue for coaching camps and practice driving throughout the year, leveraging on its proximity to Colombo,” Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, Major General Niranjan Ranasinghe said.
