Sri Lanka takes on India at netball today in New Delhi

The Sri Lanka netball team which is
participating in the Asian Junior Netball Championships in New Delhi.

Sri Lanka will take on India at the Asian Junior Netball Championships in New Delhi today. The team led by veteran national player Akila Jayawardena.

The other members of the team include national players Marisha Fernando, Hansi Bandara and Samurdhi Abeygoonewardena with a fair amount of experience behind them. The team includes three girls from Visakha. The team: Sanjeevani Madushika Ariyasena, Thilini Perera, Diluni Fernando, Gayani Dissanayake, Thishala Algama, Shalika Iranganie, Chaturangi Jayasuriya, Vinuri Ranasinghe.
The officials accompanying the team are: Somitha De Alwis (National Coach), Manager Yasa Ramachandra and Shanthi Unantenna.

Sri Lanka has been participating regularly in the competition and were runners-up in 2008 and were champions in 2002. On July 5, Sri Lanka will face Thailand and on July 6 against Malaysia and against Hong Kong on July 7. The semi-finals will beon July 9 and the final is scheduled for July 10.
Sri Lanka has a good chance of winning the championship title this year after six years.
