Danawansa leads Sri Lanka at basketball

Chamath Danawansa has been appointed skipper of the Sri Lanka National Basketball team. Chamath, a product of Royal College Colombo excelled in basketball and rugby at Royal.
His long list of achievements and leadership qualities were noticed from his school days as he captained the Royal College team and the Sri Lanka Schools team in 2003.

Currently employed at Sampath Bank he is also the captain of the basketball team at the bank. Sampath Bank has been unbeaten for six consecutive years at the local Mercantile Basketball Championships.

Chamath improved by leaps and bounds after joining the Carlton Basketball Club in 2009 and showed great leadership qualities and maturity while representing the Hambantota based club. Danawansa’s efforts have also helped him to be the captain at Carlton Basketball Club for the 2010 season as well.
