AIESEC is the largest youth-led nonprofit organisation in the world and is committed to helping young people develop their leadership skills via cross-cultural interactions. “Peace and Fulfillment of Humankind’s Potential” is the ultimate aim of AIESEC.
AIESEC was established in 1948 after World War II to promote peace and mutual respect through international exchanges. These exchanges happen in the form of professional internships and international volunteering programmes. These programmes help individuals develop their leadership and understand cultures across borders which creates an understanding and empathy towards other people thereby ensuring its ultimate goal; “Peace”.
Today, AIESEC is present in more than 110 countries including Sri Lanka. AIESEC in Sri Lanka was established in 1995 and now is present in more than 15 universities and has more than 1500 active members.
AIESEC is not just an organisation, it is a platform- a movement where young people discover their potential and learn that leadership is not just a position but a responsibility and it is about creating an impact that lasts!
