Sri Lanka universities to sign MoUs with foreign unis
View(s):The cabinet this week gave the go ahead for Sri Lanka universities to sign memorandums of understanding with foreign universities on educational cooperation.
Prime Minister Harinini Amarasooriya had proposed that Lankan universities sign MoUs with foreign universities to raise the local university grading and create internationalization.
Accordingly, the cabinet granted permission to allow the signing of a MoU between the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of People’s Republic of China and University of Peradeniya. The agreement is valid for 5 years. In addition, the cabinet approved the 3-year MoU between Bharathidasan University of India and University of Kelaniya.
Cabinet approved two separate 5-year MoUs between University of Moratuwa, and the Institute of Multidisciplinary Institute of Yokohama National University Japan as well as National Institute of Technology of Tokuyama School of Japan. (KW)
