School transport inspected in Batticaloa

Vehicles transporting school students were inspected by traffic inspectors in Batticaloa Friday (12).
The Education Ministry and the Transport Ministry are jointly implementing new regulations for vehicles transporting school students nationwide.
With the aim of improving the safety of school bus transportation, an inspection was conducted on the safety and condition of buses involved in school transportation and additional equipment installed on the vehicles was removed by the inspectors.
Traffic inspectors J K Alahapperuma, Nuwan Kulathilaka, Traffic Police Office Officer-in-Charge R K Seneviratne, Traffic Police and others participated.
