Inaugurated on Wednesday, September 10, the sessions on the theme ‘Physician For The Future’ will be held from September 11-13.
Explaining that this year marks a significant milestone in the journey of the CCP as they expand the sessions to a three-day congress in the post-COVID 19 era, CCP President Prof. Prasad Katulanda pointed out that it will enable broader academic engagement and deeper collaboration between all medical specialities.

“For the first time, all speciality colleges and associations in Sri Lanka will join hands with the CCP to bring together cutting-edge knowledge across the entire spectrum of medicine,” he said, underscoring that this collaboration ensures that the deliberations will not only cover the advances in diagnostics, therapeutics and clinical practice but will also extend to emerging fields such as medical technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and medical education – areas that will undoubtedly shape the future of healthcare in Sri Lanka and beyond.
While the CCP will be collaborating with 11 local colleges and associations, its international partners are the Royal College of Physicians of London; the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh; the Royal Australasian College of Physicians; and the Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine.
Prof. Katulanda said that the engagement of these colleges reinforces the global nature of the academic sessions and creates a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange.
