National Conference on role of chemists in achieving sustainable development goals
View(s):“Industrial Development for Sustainable Development: Role of Industrial Policy Makers”, the theme seminar three, of the National Conference on “The Role of Chemists in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals” organised by the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon was successfully held at the Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute (HARTI), Colombo on 5th June 2023. The keynote address was delivered by Dr Piyal Ariyananda, Head of Global Innovations, Stretchline Holdings Ltd. In his address he highlighted the burning issues of industrialists and the need for the government support to resolve them. The guest speakers Mr Rasitha Niroshan, Managing Director, Halcyon Pvt Ltd, Dr Udaya Jayasundara, Senior Lecturer of College of Chemical Sciences, Institute of Chemistry Ceylon and Mr Dilshard Perera, Director, Marketing, Sales and Human Resources of Bellose Lanka Pvt Ltd delivered informative lectures followed by a panel discussion.
The final seminars on “Chemical Education and Research for Sustainable Development: Role of Educational Policy Makers” with addresses by eminent speakers in the educational field, will be held on 9th June 2023.
