First batch of Diploma in Cosmetic Technology inaugurated
View(s):The inauguration ceremony of the very first batch of Diploma in Cosmetic Technology (2023/2024 intake), offered by the Department of Biosystems Technology, was held recently at the Faculty of Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
This is the only diploma in Cosmetic Technology offered by a State university in Sri Lanka, with SLQF level 03 course, and is designed to provide theoretical and practical knowledge on all aspects related to cosmetic science and the manufacturing of cosmetic products.
It provides an added advantage for small and medium-scale cosmetic and beauty entrepreneurs, cosmeticians, cosmetologists, beauticians, Ayurvedic medical practitioners, university students, or anyone interested in pursuing a career related to the cosmetics industry.
Prof Nimal Punyasiri, Chair Professor of Biochemistry at the Institute of Biochemistry Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, University of Colombo delivered the keynote speech.
