The Vidudaya-Ritzbury Swimming Championship 2023, organised and conducted by the Department of Physical Education of University of Sri Jayewardenepura, will be held on May 26 and 27 for third year at the Sri Jayewardenepura University Swimming Pool Complex.

This meet is expected to attract over 1000 swimmers from over 300 schools and swimming sports clubs and events will be held in five age categories of Under-10, 12, 14, 16 and 18. In addition to an individual male and female champion awards being presented in all age groups, schools and clubs will have the opportunity to take home the overall championship award in both male and female categories respectively.

The top three male and female individual winners will be awarded with medals and certificates to recognise their hard work and all participants of the Vidudaya-Ritzbury Championship will receive participation certificates as well.

Meanwhile, Nishanthi Widanage, Director of the Department of Physical Education of University of Sri Jayewardenepura added, “Sponsorships such as these from socially responsible entities within the corporate sector play a great role in making such sporting events happen. We are no stranger to the support extended by Ritzbury to make this event a success over the years, and their presence this year is more than appreciated. We are proud to work with a local partner such as Ritzbury, who has clearly demonstrated its support to the sporting arena of Sri Lanka,”

In addition to swimming, Ritzbury is known as an active supporter of a wide range of sporting events in Sri Lanka including the Sir John Tarbat Athletics Championship, Junior National Squash Championship, Junior Rugby Carnival and the SLTA All-Island School Kids Tennis Play Day. All these efforts are made by the confectionary brand, showcasing its commitment towards developing the skills of the nation’s youth through sports.
