ICASL-INSEAD training programme launched

The Institute of Chartered Accountantants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) in collaboration with INSEAD (Institut European d’Administration des Affaires or European Institute of Business Administration) – considered the Business School of the World -launched a 4-day Global Leadership Programme this week in Colombo. It is conducted by Dr Thomas Mannarelli, Professor of Leadership, INSEAD Business School.
INSEAD promotes to bring people together through learning, culture and education to develop leaders and entrepreneurs and to create value for their organizations and their communities and to expand academic thought and influence business practice through research.

Sujeewa Mudalige, President, ICASL,in a brief introduction, said that this Leadership Training proramme is aimed at enhancing the leadership qualities among the country’s corporate movers and shakers.
Some of the topics in the programme are - Vision and Leadership transition; Creative Thinking Outside the Box; Influence without Authority; Leading Organization Change; Leading High Performance Teams; Decision Making under Uncertainty; Negotiation Dynamics and Influencing for Change.

Dr Mannarelli said that businesses turn to INSEAD to expand their thinking, learn how to challenge assumptions and enhance leadership skills. He said that INSEAD provides innovative training methodologies and technologies of learning situations in real-time through two types of programmes: Company-specific and Open-enrolment programmes. More than 9,500 executives a year from 2,000 companies and 116 countries turn to INSTEAD for excellence in executive education.

Mr Mudalige said that the programme received an overwhelming response with organizers having to increase the number of participants by several fold to accommodate the high demand. Meanwhile, the ICASL Business School has already commenced intakes for the second ICASL-INSTEAD global leadership programme scheduled for September 2011, he added.
