Invest wisely, choose Imperial College for CIMA

Whichever career you decide to pursue among the many options out there, it is important that you get the right qualification that will help you achieve your aspirations quickly. Wouldn't it be great if you could just decide on one qualification that could possibly be useful in any business or other career? The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification does exactly that. The diverse nature of the prestigious UK qualification prepares students not just for a career in Accounting and Finance but for business as well. This qualification is not limited to commerce students. Many students who have followed Science, Maths and Arts streams also pursue CIMA, since the diversity of this qualification will complement any other qualification you wish to undertake.

As important as deciding on the right qualification to pursue, it is equally important to find the right place to study at. This is a decision about your future and the best chance you have at being successful. Hence you have to choose simply the best. Imperial College is a long established business School in Sri Lanka and a premier CIMA tuition provider. Imperial College's history exceeds 20 years, dating back to 1985 when it was founded as CBS, which was a pioneer in CIMA education in Sri Lanka. Imperial College was accredited by CIMA (UK) as a 'Learning Partner Institute' in 2004, making it one of the first institutes in Sri Lanka to receive this prestigious status, assuring the highest quality of delivery. Currently a leading provider in CIMA education, Imperial College has a reputation for providing exemplary tutoring from the Certificate Level through to TOPCIMA.

CIMA Certificate Level
The Certificate in Business Accounting which is the first Stage of CIMA is a 6 month programme of study which includes 5 subjects. Imperial College has formulated a novel approach for students commencing in September. They are offered 3 subjects from September to January and 2 subjects from January to April. This novel initiative encourages students to fully concentrate on the Certificate Level subjects. This not only gives students the opportunity of obtaining higher marks at the exams, it also allows them to fully complete their Certificate Level exams before the next stage (Operational Level) commences in June 2011.

Imperial College has developed such a model to cater to the needs of students from different academic backgrounds. It is important that students at the Certificate Level are taken through the syllabus content and provided revision for the entire duration of the Certificate Level as this will ensure they are competent to tackle the Operational and Management Levels. This unique model sees that students receive the maximum number of hours recommended per subject and are thorough with subject content.
This is the 2nd year that Imperial College has practised such a model of offering Certificate Level Subjects. Students who registered for the Certificate Level in September last year, are currently taking their CBA exams for the subjects already completed.

Operational, Management and Strategic levels
The team at Imperial College for the Operational and Management Levels include outstanding lecturers, who head each pillar. More importantly these are lecturers who have coached many students to be high flyers not only in Sri Lanka but also in South East Asia and India.

Students are assured of comprehensive syllabus coverage one month ahead of examinations. Further, they are provided with examination type mock papers that are marked and one to one feedback provided. They benefit from a comprehensive revision plan which comprises of approximately 20 hours per subject. During this revision lecturers lead students through significant areas of the syllabus that examiners find important in addition to practising several past papers. Students also gain with the provision of extra question practice classes to ensure thorough knowledge and exam preparedness.

Imperial College rewards high flyers
Over the years, Imperial College has produced several World and Sri Lankan prize winners at CIMA examinations, having produced 17 World Prizes and 49 Sri Lanka Prizes. The list of opportunities from Imperial College goes on. Students who produce exceptional results at Local, Edexcel and Cambridge O/L and A/L exams are awarded partial scholarships to study CIMA at Imperial College. At Imperial College, you don't just get rewarded for academic excellence, students who excel at extracurricular activities are rewarded.

In January 2011, Imperial College also sponsored the Young Minds programme conducted by the CIMA Sri Lanka Division.

With a vision of nurturing the leaders of tomorrow, their boundaries are not limited to creating sound CIMA graduates. With an aspiration of developing the youth of Sri Lanka, Imperial College ventured into assisting O/L and A/L students from all streams with their examinations by sponsoring the revision programmes conducted for them.
