Nabeel Nawaz and Dhaamin Samsoodeen of Hejaaz International School obtained High Distinctions at the Australian National Chemistry Quiz 2010 organised by the Royal Australian National Chemistry Institute.
High Distinctions are awarded to the very top rankers in the state and only to a selected 10%. These HIS students achieved a score that placed them in this very distinctive category out of a total number of 7935 candidates who participated from Sri Lanka. The ANCQ is held in 20 countries in the Asia Pacific Region.
The School is proud of their achievement. Along with them Ahsan Ameenudeen, Rumaiz Hidayathullah, Yoosuf Misbah, Rehan Raheem,Fiham Saleem, Ruksar Shafeek and Zuhara Zahiruddin also attained Distinctions. Asna Ayub, Fiham Firodose, Adil Kitchilan, Ijas Ahamed Mansoor, Arshad Refai, F Shahabdeen and Fathima Sufyan received the mark of Credit.
The school in its seventeen year experience only recruits the qualified best in order to set a standard of excellence in each of its disciplines. Being an International School, English is the medium of instruction for all other subjects. Focus is also upon stern discipline, sports and extra curricular activities such as basketball, netball, scrabble Art & Craft workshops, Performing Arts along with various quiz practices.
This is not the first time that the school has achieved awards at national and international levels.
The record shows that from 2006 to 2010 the school has received at ‘The International Assessment for Schools’ examination 1 World Prize, 8 Country Topper Awards, 8 High Distinctions, 89 Distinctions and 251 Credits. They have also excelled at the Sri Lanka Festival for Performing Arts 2010 with 44 Gold Medals and 140 Silver Medals,
The School is currently focusing on IT education for their students with affiliation to various overseas examination bodies that would give them a better platform in life and job opportunities with international certifications. |
