Jayasuriya dives with the Dolphins

Veteran opener Sanath Jayasuriya became a part of MTN Domestic cricket Championship in South Africa when he made his debut for the Dolphins against the Highveld Lions in Potchefstroom on Friday.

After five rounds of the Supersport Series, South Africa's domestic programme moved up a notch with the start of the 45-overs competition and, even though Jayasuriya only arrived in the country on Thursday.

With 421 one-day internationals behind his name (12875 runs and 310 wickets), the 39-year-old will be a welcome addition to the Dolphins squad, who have endured a disappointing season so far.
Jayasuriya will be in South Africa till end January 2009.
