OLV Moratuwa shuttlers win Under-15 Division ‘A’ team title
View(s):Our Lady of Victories (OLV) Convent Moratuwa emerged the Division ‘A’ champions in the All-Island Under-15 Badminton Team Championship 2018 held recently. The OLV shuttlers had an overwhelming performance in the first round and the team went on to defeat Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda by 3-2 in the semi-final before entering the final. The Victorians recorded a thrilling 3-2 win against Visaka Vidyalaya in the final to claim the championship.
The victorious team included Venuki Fernando, Sehasna Lochani, Diyana Peiris, Niroshini Peiris, Sachini Perera, Tihasha Fernando, Dinadhi Weerasooriya, Senaya Fernando, Vihanga Fernando and Ashini Almeida. The team was coached by Yukthi Fernando with the assistance of teacher-in-charge Nimalka Aponso.
