Korea donates 55 digital pianos

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea under the auspices of ambassador Arjuna Jongmoon Choi hosted a piano donation ceremony titled ‘Music Raising Hope’ at the embassy premises on Monday, February 24.

Sponsored by Korea’s leading company Booyoung Group, a total of 55 digital pianos were handed out to various schools and children’s homes from 12 different districts. Ambassador Choi said he hoped this piano donation would help more Sri Lankan children to learn, play and enjoy music.

Representatives of the beneficiary institutes participated in the ceremony while Sister Rita Anthonypillai from Triest Home for Girls and, Principal of Palmeston Primary School. A.S. Maiyanayagam thanked the Embassy. The ceremony concluded with a musical performance by the school children of Vidyachackrawarthi School, Puttalam.
