Japanese pianist and baritone in concert with Eshantha
View(s):Alliance Française de Colombo will present an evening of classical music by Japanese pianist Chiho Akaishi and Rioo Kuratou on Friday, March 14 at the Alliance Française de Colombo’s auditorium at No. 11 Barnes Place, Colombo 7.
Leading pianist Eshantha Peiris will perform as the Guest Artist for the evening.This will be an excellent “Piano Four- Hands” by Chiho and Eshantha.Their programme includes Camille Saint-Saens : “Carnaval des Animaux” and Claude Debussy : “Petite Suite”
Chiho Akaishi hails from Shikzuoko and teaches piano music at the Shikzuoko University and Junior College. She is a regular classical music concert performer in Japan.
Since 1997, she has held a concert titled ‘Classical Music & Ceylon Tea’ in Shizuoka. In March 2011 she had a concert in Colombo at Alliance Française de Colombo with soprano Chihoko Otsuka.
Their performance for the evening will feature Piano Solo – Eshantha Peiris, Baritone Solo – Rioo Kuratou, Piano Solo – Chiho Akaishi, Piano Four Hands – Eshantha Peiris and Chiho Akaishi – Claude Debussy, Piano Four Hands – Eshantha Peiris and Chiho Akaishi – Camille Saint-Saens, among others.
