Further to the publication regarding Thilini Sudhara Jayasinghe (plaintiff), the Sunday Times states that the photograph in the Kandy Times of 2008.03.02 was not published with the intention of causing her disrepute or pain of mind and was done in good faith. The second to the sixth respondents in the D.C. Kandy Case No: DSP 437/08 regret if the publication caused her disrepute or pain of mind.
This is in accordance with the settlement entered into in the said case on 2011 March 1st between the plaintiff and second to the sixth defendants.
